Who We Are

We are not only called individually to salvation, but collectively to be a “peculiar (i.e., one’s own/special) people” of God. At the beginning, we called ourselves Children of the Light (John 12:36) or Friends of Truth, Truth being Christ. Now, we say we are a Society of Friends. We are not a society of friends of each other but Friends of Christ, called as his body to serve Him, each of us an essential member of that body, to nourish and to be nourished by each of the others and for the body as a whole.
